Be Bold

“I will go,” she said”….Gen 24:58

Rebekah was a bold woman who made bold moves. She wasn’t bold in the way she showed her body, tried to get everyone’s attention or spoke up so that all would here her. No, she was bold in her character, faithfulness and willingness to trust the Lord.

Abraham’s servant met Rebekah at the place to draw water and it was there that Rebekah showed her character by going the extra mile not just to draw water for him to have something to drink, but offering to get water for all of his camels as well. To do such a task, drawing water for his camels would have taken hours. It meant many trips to the well, and all for a stranger who had nothing to offer her at the time. Little did she know, she became an answer to his prayers. She would be God’s choice for Isaac; becoming his wife.

Friend, be bold in your character and your love. You’ll get to be an answer to prayer. Isn’t that good news? Don’t you want to be so bold in your faith and willingness to trust the Lord that life becomes so much more about other people? You’ll hear more clearly from God because He’s speaking to you and through you as you “water the camels” around you, filling the needs of people without expecting anything in return?

This is good news, dear friend. Yes, it is good to wait patiently for the Lord, not looking for a blessing, but being one and in doing so, God picks us out from among the many to become part of His grand story because we were willing to become less, to love the least of these and serve with our whole selves expecting nothing in return.

Lord, I want to be a blessing today. Use my life to be bold for you, I pray, in Jesus name, Amen.
